A Better Ski Day Starts With the Right Boot

Your ski boots have a major impact on your comfort, warmth, control, and confidence on the mountain. But finding the right pair is not always easy.

At Proctor Ski & Board, our boot fitters have spent decades selecting, fitting, modifying, testing, and skiing in the boots we sell. Whether you are a first-time skier, weekend cruiser, park skier, racer, or backcountry enthusiast, we will help match you with a boot suited to your feet, ability, skiing style, and goals.

Once we find the right boot, we can customize the fit to make it truly yours.

What to Expect During Your Fitting

  • 1. We Listen

Your fitting begins with a conversation about your skiing experience, ability, preferred terrain, current boots, comfort concerns, and goals.

  • 2. We Evaluate

Your boot fitter will measure and visually evaluate your feet, arches, ankles, and lower legs. Range of motion, balance, and alignment may also be considered.

  • 3. We Compare

You will try several boots selected for your foot shape and skiing needs, with enough time to understand how each option feels.

  • 4. We Customize

Once the right boot is selected, we can adjust the liner, shell, footbed, cuff alignment, forward lean, and other elements when needed.

Boot Fitting and Customization Services

From custom insoles to shell adjustments, our boot-fitting team can fine-tune your setup for better comfort, support, and performance.

  • Footbeds and Custom Insoles

Proper foot support can improve stability, alignment, comfort, and control inside a ski boot. Because every foot and arch is different, we carry a wide range of pre-shaped footbeds and also create fully custom insoles in-house.

  • Heat Molding

Every ski boot we stock includes a heat-moldable liner, and many models also feature heat-moldable shells. Heat molding helps selected parts of the boot conform more closely to the skier’s foot.

  • Shell and Liner Adjustments

When necessary, our boot fitters can modify specific areas of the shell to relieve pressure and improve fit. We can also recommend and fit aftermarket liners when the original liner does not fully meet the skier’s needs.

  • Stance and Alignment

A ski boot’s setup can influence balance, comfort, and control. Factors such as ramp angle, forward lean, cuff alignment, range of motion, and balance may affect how the skier interacts with the boot and ski. Our fitters can evaluate these factors and make adjustments when appropriate.

  • Boot Heaters

We carry compatible heating systems and battery packs that can be installed in ski boots to help keep feet warmer throughout the day.
